Industriale Chimica in Italy, Quimica Sintetica in Spain and Gold Pharma in China focus on research and development of independent industrial synthetic methods for the production of active pharmaceutical substances (API). CHEMO's plants operate in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) following European and U.S Standards, and they are periodically inspected by the FDA. Chemical processes as well as pharmaceutical formulations are covered by patents registered in most of the major industrial countries of the world.
CHEMO owns chemical and pharmaceutical plants with the most advanced technology and employs highly qualified professionals responsible for their efficient productivity. Liconsa and Leon Farma in Spain produce finished products from APIs produced at the chemical plants. Liconsa mainly produces products derived from pelleting, granulating and coating processes and has registration dossiers which have led to more than 500 marketing authorizations in many countries. Leon Farma produces hormones with the aim of enhancing women's health. CHEMO's plants operate in accordance with Good Manufacturing practices (GMP).
Both Liconsa and Leon Farma R&D activities comprises:
• Development of solid formulations.
• Development of analytical methods.
• Up-scale and industrialization of production processes.
• Validations of production processes and analytical methods.
• Stability studies.
• Clinical Trials.
• Elaboration of dossiers for product registration.
CHEMO markets active substances, some of which are produced by companies of our group, which are used for the manufacturing of such veterinary drugs as antibiotics, antiparasitics, anti-inflammatories or hormonal drugs. CHEMO also markets active substances used for manufacturing biocide, animal-health and plant-health products.
Even though each plant has it´s own R&D center, CHEMO created Chemessentia in 2006, dedicated to the research and development of active ingredients process production. Many of Chemmesentia R&D projects are carried on in collaboration with top universities in Europe and Latin America.
CHEMO has a worldwide network -in more than 20 countries- to market pharmaceutical substances and finished products. A large commercial team with wide knowledge and experience in the field allows CHEMO to be present in many countries on five continents.
